The terms on which these pages are read

Tola Ledger is an independent editorial desk. It publishes one measurement, taken from named public sources, and republishes it with the date and hour it was read. This page states how the figures are made, what the desk cannot do, what it earns, and where responsibility sits.

Information, not advice

Everything on this site is information, not advice. The figures describe what things cost at a moment in time, not what a reader should do with their money. No page is a recommendation, an offer, or a suggestion to buy or sell. The desk does not know a reader's circumstances, needs, or tolerance for risk, and it does not pretend to. A reader who acts on these figures does so on their own judgement, and the decision is theirs alone.

The distinction matters because a printed number can look like a signal. It is not. The Karachi Saraf Jewellers Association fixes the 24 karat tola rate; every other row below is that rate multiplied out, exactly as the sarafa itself does it. That is arithmetic, not analysis. The desk repeats the figure, names the source, and leaves the reader to decide what, if anything, to do next.

Where the figures come from

The source of every figure is named under the table where it appears, with a link. A reader can follow that link and check the number at its publisher. The desk takes the published rate and does not alter it. If the source says a tola of 24 karat gold costs a certain amount in rupees, that is the number shown here, with the date and the hour it was read.

The measurement has limits, and so do these pages. A rate fixed in the morning may move by the afternoon. A source may correct itself later. The desk republishes what it saw at the stated hour, and it does not promise that the number will still be true when the reader looks. For that reason, the hour is repeated with every figure, and the source is always one click away.

What the desk earns

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. If a reader follows that link and opens an account there, the desk is paid a commission. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. That is the only commercial relationship on these pages, and it is stated here plainly.

The affiliate relationship does not change the figures. The desk does not choose a rate because a broker pays a commission, and it does not adjust a number to flatter a product. The gold rate comes from the sarafa association, not from the broker. The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy, and following the link leaves this site.

Responsibility and corrections

Responsibility for this publication sits with the editorial desk: the Tola Ledger editorial team. No person is named, because no person is the source. The desk reads the named public sources, checks the figures as they are published, and answers a correction when one is needed. If a figure is wrong, it is corrected and the correction is dated.

The desk cannot do what a broker or an adviser does. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. That address exists for corrections, and a reader who finds a wrong figure should use it.
